If so, I want you to know that you don’t have to be alone with your struggles.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California providing online counseling for adults or teens (13 and older) who:
The first thing that I want you to know about my counseling approach is that it’s influenced by having been a therapy client myself. With a personal understanding of what therapy is like from the client perspective, I am better able to provide a nonjudgmental and culturally sensitive experience for my clients. My counseling style is compassionate, down to earth, and straightforward, with a goal of creating a space where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings honestly.
My clinical approach is deeply influenced by Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which provides tools for understanding your experience and behavior in order to change outcomes for a more fulfilling life. Our work together will be customized to your specific needs, and we will set your therapeutic goals together based on what you would like to achieve. I strongly believe that everyone can work towards a happier life when they are well supported and have access to the right tools.
Is online counseling right for you? Many people find that online counseling is an advantage because they want to choose their counselor based on their unique needs, rather than being limited to who is located within driving distance. Some people prefer online counseling due to the privacy and comfort of talking with a counselor in their own home.
My license allows me to provide online counseling to anyone residing in the state of California. You can read more on my Online Therapy/Counseling Services page.
I knew from the age of 16 that I wanted to become a social worker. In my career of more than 20 years, I’ve worked with youth and adults in many settings with roles in case management and positions of leadership in community organizations. During the past 13 years, I have also been providing supervision and training for students in bachelors and graduate programs. I have deep roots in the San Francisco Bay Area and have contributed to the nonprofit and educational sectors in many ways through professional positions, volunteer work, and committee membership.
Please take a look at my About Cynthia page and learn how we might be a great fit.
In addition to providing individual counseling services, I also offer consultation to community-based organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including nonprofit management, program development, program management, database and information systems, and quality assurance/evaluation development.
Furthermore, I am able to provide supervision to Bay Area graduate interns/trainees and to Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW), Associate Marriage Family Therapists (AMFT), and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors (APCC).

Schedule your free 20-minute consultation! This is a good way to get your questions answered and an opportunity to determine if we are a good fit.
An email will be sent to get you started with our paperwork process. No worries, everything is completed online and easy to navigate.
At the first/intake session, we'll review your completed intake paperwork and discuss what brought you to counseling more in-depth.
Individual weekly sessions will be conducted. Total number of counseling sessions can vary depending on your specific needs and circumstances.
Graduation/termination will begin once your therapeutic goals have been achieved. The process will be discussed early since termination is essentially a separation from you and the therapist.
